Understanding of the molecular mechanisms of various pathological states, with particular emphasis on genetic diseases. Correlate the alterations at molecular level with the pathological manifestations of the diseases at cell, tissue and patient level. Define the molecular basis of the available treatments as well as of the strategies to be developed.
