My research activities focus on the understanding of the interactions between engineered nanoparticles and biological systems and in the exploitation of this knowledge in the area of nanomedicine, bioimaging, and clinical diagnostics. To achieve these goals, we use a broad variety of synthetic approaches and of analytical techniques.RESEARCH
We are part of the project “DIRNANO: Directing the immune response through designed nanomaterials” (MSCA-ITN-ETN - European Training Networks funding scheme) officially starting on October 1st, 2020!NEWS
Roberto Fiammengo studied Chemistry at the University of Padua in Italy and received a Ph.D. from the University of Twente in the Netherlands. In 2003, he moved to Germany where he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Pharmacy and Molecular Biotechnology of the University of Heidelberg and later as a group leader at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Stuttgart. In 2012 he moved back to Italy at the Center for Biomolecular Nanotechnologies of the Italian Institute of Technology in Lecce where he was a researcher – team leader until August 2020. From the 1st of September 2020 he is an associate professor of organic chemistry at the University of Verona.BIO
