Teaching strategies

The Department of Biotechnology’s teaching activities are closely connected with its areas of research. It runs six main study programmes – three Bachelor’s degrees and three Master’s degrees:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology
  • Bachelor’s degree in Viticultural and Oenological Science and Technology
  • Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics
  • Master’s degree in Agri-Food Biotechnology
  • Master’s degree in Molecular and Medical Biotechnology
  • Interuniversity Master’s degree in Science and Technology of Bio and Nanomaterials

Consolidating the courses currently on offer, the Department aims to expand the scope of its programmes in line with its research strategies and also to respond to industry demand, thus enhancing its ability to attract students not only locally but also nationally and internationally.

Further education

The Department currently offers a PhD in Biotechnology, a top level qualification that aims to provide students with advanced scientific and academic skills.
The Department also runs an Interuniversity Master II in Chemical Engineering for Water Purification and Renewable Energies, offering graduates a high level qualification with which to enter companies operating  in this specific sector.
