Research interests
Stefano Capaldi currently works on expression, in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems, and structure determination by single crystal X-ray diffraction of several proteins. His research work includes structural studies on hydrophobic molecule-binding proteins, fungal lectins with antitumoral activity and protein-protein interactions in biologically relevant complexes. In the last years he focused on the structural characterization of proteins involved in the bile acid metabolism and transport (Bile Acid-Binding Proteins, BABPs) and fungal lectins with antitumoral properties.
