The organic chemistry laboratory has the aim of introducing the basic methodology in organic chemistry, of separation, purification and identification of natural organic compounds and carbohydrates. particular attention will be devoted to the resolution of exercises of organic chemistry
1 experience: Nucleophilic substitution SN1. How to purify through extraction procedures. use of the refraction index
2 experience: Separation of a ternary mixture containing compounds with different acid-base properties. Purification through crystallization. determination of the melting point.
3 experience: Extraction of caffeine from tea leaves.
4 experience: Extraction of coloured pigments from spinach leaves. Characterisation through TLC.
5 experience: identification of carbohydrates
