Master's degree in Agri-Food Biotechnology
The Master Degree in Agri-Food Biotechnology offers a high level professional preparation, which can be employed in research activity and development of processes, products and services in the agri-food production chain.
Graduates will be able to solve and manage problems related to agri-food biotechnologies in a sustainable way, including energy and environmental aspects, as well as to deal with the planning and fulfillment of basic research, applied research and technological transfer projects in the industry.
The course offers the possibility to deepen a wide range of scientific disciplines that include Biochemistry and
Molecular Biology, Plant physiology and nutrition, Plant pathology, Plant genetics, Food science also applied to health, Food and Environmental Microbiology, Industrial processes.
In addition to traditional teaching, the Master Degree includes hands-on teaching methods and many credits of laboratory and experimental internship, thanks to which the student will acquire knowledge and skills essential for the development of a project, by defining goals, strategies for implementation and feasibility, as well as experimental checks.

Master's degree in Molecular and Medical Biotechnology
Molecular and medical biotechnology has enormous potential for developing new solutions to improve human health. Through the understanding of the molecular and cellular mechanisms of diseases, biotechnology plays an essential role in developing drugs, vaccines, therapies and diagnostic tests.
The Master’s degree in Molecular and Medical Biotechnology aims to produce skilled researchers in the field of molecular and cellular biotechnology who are capable of performing biomedical analyses, research and development using experimental and computational approaches. These skills are developed through the study of cellular and molecular biology, genomics and diagnostics, pathology and pharmacology, and computational biology.
The postgraduate programme, which includes an integrated laboratory course based on a current topic in biomedical research, provides students with a solid technical background highlighting the impact of laboratory research on human health. The degree has a single curriculum, but its flexible approach enables students to tailor the programme to their own needs and interests.
 
This programme - which is completely taught in English, allowing you to earn a degree that will be recognised in Italy and abroad, - welcomes international students, combining knowledge and experience from various cultural backgrounds.
 
Graduates will be prepared to enter the workforce in either the public or private sector, or may choose to conduct their profession in consulting and design. Areas of possible employment include research and technological development for public bodies or in the industry (biotech, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, etc.); regulatory activities; the creation and management of biotechnology entities in the public and private sectors; performing directive, management and advisory functions in the pharmacological and biomedical fields; technical and scientific communication and information handling.
Applicants are expected to have basic knowledge and understanding of biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics. A good knowledge of English (at least European B1 level) is also required.

Laurea magistrale in Biotecnologie per le biorisorse e lo sviluppo ecosostenibile
Il Corso offre una preparazione avanzata nel campo delle biotecnologie industriali, con specifica formazione negli ambiti di valorizzazione delle risorse biologiche. Il laureato magistrale sarà in grado di sviluppare prodotti e servizi innovativi, nei diversi ambiti di riferimento delle biotecnologie industriali, e di affrontare e risolvere problemi in modo autonomo in un contesto sia di ricerca che aziendale/industriale. In particolare potrà operare nel settore biotecnologico della bioconversione di matrici organiche in bioprodotti e biocombustibili, della produzione e sviluppo di composti bio-based e di nanomateriali, e del biorisanamento ambientale, in un ottica di ecosostenibilità.
Queste competenze sono raggiunte, grazie alla multidisciplinarità dell'offerta formativa del corso, in cui si integrano tra loro discipline quali chimica inorganica ed organica, chimica agraria, biochimica, biologia molecolare, genetica e bioinformatica, tecnologie di processo, enzimologia, microbiologia industriale e ambientale. Il Corso prevede l'utilizzo di strumenti didattici sperimentali: esercitazioni, attività di laboratorio assistito e discussione di pubblicazioni scientifiche, oltre ad attività di tirocinio presso aziende o enti di ricerca pubblici e privati. La prova finale consiste nella preparazione e discussione di una tesi sperimentale originale, frutto di un lavoro di ricerca, formalizzazione, progettazione e sviluppo, compiuto presso una struttura universitaria, o esterna, in Italia e/o all'estero.
I laureati possono operare in qualità di ricercatori e operatori specialistici in laboratori e enti di ricerca e sviluppo pubblici e privati, nelle industrie chimiche, biotecnologiche per il trattamento delle biomasse, in istituzioni nazionali e internazionali di certificazione e sviluppo della normativa in campo biotecnologico, in centri di servizi in ambiti connessi con le biotecnologie industriali e ambientali, o come docenti di materie scientifiche nella scuola secondaria superiore, una volta completati gli specifici iter formativi.
