Giovanna Pesante’s research interests focus on the application of biotechnologies to the valorisation of wastes and by-products into biofuels, bioplastics, biostimulants and other bioproducts.

The main projects she is currently involved in are:

- Horizon 2022 AGRILOOP: high-value products from agricultural residues through sustainable chains:

- Life 2018 CIRCforBIO: a circular economy system for multi-source biomass conversion to added value products.
