Curriculum

Giovanna Felis svolge attività di ricerca su alcuni argomenti inerenti la microbiologia, principalmente in ambito agro-alimentare, sia applicata che di base. In particolare, sono stati svolti studi di caratterizzazione genetica, genomica e funzionale di ceppi di diversi microrganismi specifiche applicazioni; sviluppo di prototipi per lo sviluppo di  metodiche genetiche di identificazione e rilevamento di microrganismi per applicazioni legate alla qualità degli alimenti; approfondimento degli aspetti di biodiversità genetica, evoluzione e tassonomia dei batteri lattici. Gli interessi di ricerca più recenti riguardano il rapporto tra microrganismi (microbiota e probiotici), dieta (prebiotici) e salute/benessere dell'uomo, e l'impatto delle biotrasformazioni microbiche sulla qualità di alimenti e bevande fermentati.

The expertise of the group concerns the molecular study of microorganisms related to food production and preservation, including pro-technological microorganisms relevant in the production as well as spoiling microorganisms that may occur, and molecular mechanisms of synergy and antagonism.
