The course aims to transfer knowledge about the processes that govern the production of x-rays and particles., The interaction of x with matter, biological effects of radiation and the basics of radiation protection. They will also be provided knowledge on laser sources.

Notes technological and construction
Production of coherent optical radiation
X-ray matter interaction. Photoelectric, Compton, Pair production.
Law of attenuation of the beam, average thickness, thickness-life.
Fluence, flux.
Absorbed dose, equivalent dose, effective dose.
Deterministic and stochastic effects
The three basic principles of radiation protection.
Operational radiation protection. Classification of areas and personnel.
