Visiting grants for Trieste Next | Call for applications for the 2022 edition

Dear students,

Applications are now open for visiting grants to participate in the Trieste Next Academy, scheduled to take place in Trieste from Friday, September 23 to Sunday, September 25, 2022. The Trieste Next Academy is aimed at students of bachelor's, master's, PhD and ITS degree programs from all Italian universities.

Trieste Next-Festival of Scientific Research is promoted by the City of Trieste, University of Trieste, ItalyPost, Immaginario Scientifico, with the co-promotion of the Autonomous Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the collaboration of the European Commission and the content partnership of AIRC Foundation for Cancer Research

The Trieste Next Academy aims to offer a unique opportunity for meeting, exchange and training through active participation in the event that guarantees selected students:

  • preferential access to all events on the calendar (conferences, workshops, seminars);
  • moments of meeting and in-depth analysis with the big names in science, applied research and innovative enterprise;
  • participation in the laboratories in the City of Science that will be set up for the occasion in Piazza Unità d'Italia, in the heart of Trieste.

The application deadline is Sunday, July 31, 2022 (there are also the following deadlines (subject to availability of places): August 14, September 11).

The Trieste Next Academy is providing 250 visiting grants that include

  • preferential access and reserved seats at the events of the event, with the possibility of direct dialogue with the speakers at the end of the meetings;
  • lodging in multiple rooms (triple/quadruple) in affiliated facilities for the entire duration of the stay (nights of Friday, September 23 and Saturday, September 24, 2022), with the possibility of requesting (upon payment of additional surcharge) accommodation in single rooms, double rooms, or extra nights;
  • fixed menu lunches and dinners in facilities that will be indicated by the organization;
  • transfers from hotel facilities to Festival venues (where necessary).

Visiting grants cover 50% of the organization's costs. To confirm their participation in the event, students selected for the visiting grant are required to pay a participation fee of 200 euros.

Travel expenses to and from Trieste are the responsibility of the selected students. At the end of the event, and only upon actual participation in 80 percent of the scheduled appointments, an official certificate of participation will be issued.

International students should note the possibility of participating in the International Academy of Trieste Next, which will be held entirely in English with a dedicated program of activities. For more information and to apply, click here.
