Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to develop an in-depth knowledge of the structure of theCommon agricultural and wine-growing policies and of its reflections on the Italian national policy.
The objective is to analyze the tools used to balance supply, increase the quality of wine production and develop competitiveness.Expenditure budgets will be analyzed, both in historical terms and in the analysis of current programming.The role of protection will be addressed analyzing the objectives of trade agreements.

The class will be articulated as follow:
European institutions and the decision making process
The actors of agricultural policy and wine sector, their role and interests
The Common Agricultural Policy: history, objectives and evolutions
The wine policy 2014-2020: Opportunities and constraints for viticultural chain?
The wine policy and the common market organization (CMO): from the wine CMO to single CMO (Reg. 1308/2013)
Labels between marketing needs and legislative constraints
Oenological practices, manufacturer's responsibility, regulatory updates
Scenarios of international agreements and new management tools of international sales networks
The Italian Text unit and sanction system

Assessment methods and criteria

The exam will be written to open questions.
The questions will address the topics followed during the course.
