Within the frame of the EU TEMPUS Project
“Capacity building of Personnel in Jordanian Olive Industry”, Dr. Ghadeer F. Mehyar will be visiting the Dept. of Biotechnology from May 23rd through May 27th.
Dr. Mehyar is an associated professor and dean assistant for academic research at the University of Jordan since 2008 and is an active researcher in the field of biodegradable packages, antimicrobial additives, legislation and food microbiology. Dr. Mehyar’s research interests are in the field of active biopolymer packaging, microbial food control, food textural properties and polymeric additives in foods.
Dr. Mehyar obtained her BSc. and MSc. degrees in Food Science and Nutrition from the University of Jordan in 1991 and 1996, respectively and the PhD degree in Foods and Nutritional Sciences from the University of Manitoba, Canada in 2006.
